On the east coast of the island, about 11 km from Skopolos Town, the approach is spectacular with wide sea vistas and across to Peristera island. This is an enchanting village and sheltered harbour and is pleasantly uncommercialised.
There are four water side Tavernas specialising in fish dishes, a favourite being bouliabase made from scorpion fish and red mullet. For your provisions there are two mini markets. Views from the tavernas and water front are over the multi coloured fishing boats to the island of Peristera. There is a small Monk Seal rescue centre where you can see wounded or orphan seals recuperating before being returned to the Marine Park.
