A quick stroll around the National Gardens of Athens might be just what the doctor ordered for those on holiday in Greece this summer, as one publication has described them as a "beautiful" place in which to escape the hustle and bustle of the city.
According to Greeka.com, there are labyrinth-esque paths and wooden benches, surrounded by lakes and a zoo that comes complete with peacocks, goats, chickens and other animals.
In addition, the premises - previously known as the Royal Gardens as only the Greek royal family had the right to enjoy the sights and sounds - boasts a duck pond, a botanical museum and a children's library, with the site open from "sunrise to sunset".
This follows a recent AFP report revealing that president Karolos Papoulias took the decision to allow people access to the palatial gardens every Sunday between 10:00 and 14:00 local time, except on public holidays.
