Tourists looking to soak up as much culture as possible while on holiday in Corfu might like to consider renting a boat and travelling out to sea.
Located just 11 miles off the coast of Corfu is the island of Othoni and travellers may find that taking a day trip to the region to be fun, the Queens Gazette reports.
It boasts 13 villages, many olive trees, a range of mountains and sandy beaches, as well as some "exotic caves".
According to the news source, a popular stretch for people to frequent is Aspros-ammos, while the cave of Kalypso can also be found, which - according to legend - takes its name from Homer's Odyssey.
"The island also features four beautiful churches of Byzantine architecture," it was further observed, while a lighthouse built in 1872 might prove to be of interest as well.
Timothy Spall of new movie Alice in Wonderland recently had a great time in Corfu, telling the Telegraph that it was one of the "loveliest" holidays he had been on.
