Flight Update (Published: 11 August 2009)
Holidays to Greece could soon be even easier than they already are after new flights from Heathrow Airport commence.
Two arrivals and two departures every day will be served by Aegean, which said those heading to the country on business or pleasure will find the times very convenient.
Flights leave Athens at 09:10 and 17:20 local time, arriving at 11.15 and 19:20 GMT.
Heathrow departures will be at 12:45 and 20:20 GMT, and these will reach the Greek capital by 18:30 and 02:05 local time.
Arriving in Athens at any time is suitable and some travellers choose to stay for a lively city break before heading to an island or other destination.
Ferry crossings are an excellent way to reach these and some do not take long. For example, a holiday in Andros would be served by a flight to the capital and then a two-hour boat trip to the port of Rafina.
